A Strong Research Partnership

The Value to Wood Research program is unique in that it is integrating the capabilities of five leading Canadian wood research organizations, thus creating a new synergy in support of wood product manufacturers across the country.

• FPInnovations – Forintek Division - Canada's national wood products research institute.
• Laval University - Centre de recherche sur le bois.
• University of British Columbia - Department of Wood Science & Centre for Advanced Wood Processing
• University of New Brunswick - Wood Science et Technology Centre.
• University of Toronto - Natural Fibre Science Group.

Under the direction of Natural Resources Canada, and guided by a committee of representatives from value-added product manufacturers across the country, these wood research organisations have developed and implemented a nationally co-ordinated Research program.

This new synergy is allowing Canada to utilise the multi-disciplinary competencies and research capabilities in value-added wood product research across the country. Findings from the Value to Wood Research are available to Canadian wood product manufacturers on the Research and Development page.
